English isn’t my first language, but after three decades and change of obsessing over which punctuation to use, I now find myself Managing Editor for x3 No. 1 New York Times Bestselling Author Mark Manson, whose best-known work The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck has sold a gazillion copies worldwide.

When I’m not nudging Mark for approvals, I write Val Asks, a weekly newsletter that asks questions you’d never thought to. My mission: make the world more thoughtful, one unsuspecting subscriber at a time. As of January 2026, I am joined by 400+ intrepid readers from 28 US states and 45 countries.
